Our client was established in central London over 50 years ago as one of the first Chinese supermarkets in the UK. Since then they have become one of the landmarks of London's vibrant and bustling scene. They are now widely recognised as the UK's leading Chinese and Oriental supplier with our stores and distribution network supplying the majority of Chinese restaurants and take-aways throughout the country.

As one of our retail managers, you'll have ultimate responsibility for delivering an ever-improving shopping experience in a safe and secure environment. You will achieve this by putting customers at the heart of everything; leading, coaching and engaging with your team; promoting a sales culture; and personifying the company's values. So you'll need to be an inspirational retail manager who can deliver change, act as a role model for others - and consistently generate results on the shop floor. This role will be reporting directly to the central operation manager.

Essential criteria

  • Have proven relationship building skills within a diverse environment

  • Support changes and be result driven

  • Be willing to get involved and lead from the front

  • Strong work ethic and sense of responsibilities

  • Fluent English and Mandarin or Cantonese language skills

  • Good understanding of Chinese culture

  • Work experience in the UK and Life experience in the UK preferably for 5 years including study period

  • Good communication and organisation skills as well as professional mannerism

  • Strengthen and support existing and new teams through mentoring and coaching

  • Able to handle the pressure and remain calm at all times

  • Be able to learn quickly in a fast paced environment
