Why it pays a business to use a Retail Recruitment Agency

Following on from our previous article looking at the reasons why a candidate should be using a retail recruitment agency, this week we’re focusing on the benefits a business can expect when using one.

1.   Once an employer has created a vacancy and established the criteria for the role, recruitment agencies can set about finding suitable people for the position. The 'ideal candidate' is often the one who is not actively looking for a new job but would be open to one if the right opportunity presented itself. Each recruitment consultant will have strong networks and a clear idea of where to find these individuals. Your consultant will help you connect to people with a range of skills and experiences, many of whom would be off the radar of an in-house team or hiring manager.

2.   A good retail recruitment agency will give candidates a real insight into your business – what it’s like to work there, the benefits and a feel for the culture. The best recruitment agencies build good relationships with their clients and learn all about their specific requirements and goals as well as the types of people who would thrive there. This means a retail recruitment agency will be able to source talented people who are both capable of doing the job and a good fit for the business.

3.   A retail recruitment agency can act as an extension to your own HR department and can be a great source of advice.  Sometimes our consultants at C2 Recruitment are asked for advice not just on salaries within the retail sector, but on other areas traditionally handled by HR such as what an offer letter should look like; what an acceptable holiday allowance would be; what additional benefits might bring their company in line with the best employers in their sector.

4.   A recruitment agency will deliver candidates, not applications. Someone who responds to an advert or through an employer’s website might not be a particularly good match for the role and a lot of time will then be spent filtering and assessing applications then communicating with applicants. Using a retail recruitment agency will mean that someone else does this work for you. You will just be presented with candidates who have been pre-selected to match both your company and the role and who are definitely worth considering and interviewing.
