Events Manager - Leading cinema operator

Are you passionate about movies and creating unforgettable experiences for customers?

Our client is a well-established international brand who currently operate in excess of 100 cinemas in the UK, a number which has steadily grown over the past few years. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the team as an Events Manager. As a key member of the management team, you will work alongside the Cinema Managers to ensure the smooth running of the cinema on a daily basis, with departmental responsibility for all events including corporate, VIP and private hire.

The ideal candidate will have management experience a within a fast-paced and customer focused, hospitality, retail or leisure environment with a focus on high profile and large volume events. You must be passionate about people, proactive in developing others and flexible on shift patterns. A love of film and cinema would also be an advantage!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all private and corporate event hire enquiries and host client and supplier site visits as required.
  • Work closely with Head Office and the broader cinema operations team to ensure all events are planned and executed to the highest possible standard
  • Attend events and manage the execution of each
  • Confirm receipt of all event briefs, respond with any questions and ensure requirements are actioned and / or communicated to and actioned by the broader cinema team.
  • Manage the staffing of each event in accordance with the approved event staff allocations.
  • Organise event retail stock orders.
  • Undertake a weekly walkthrough of the site facilities, logging issues that may impact on the successful execution of an event.
  • Host a cinema team briefing ahead of each event and allocate roles and responsibilities across the cinema operations team.
  • Attend the weekly event planning call and communicate information back to the General Manager.
  • Compile a weekly event hire report and circulate to stakeholders.
  • Oversee daily cinema operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of cinema staff, conducting performance reviews and encouraging internal development.
  • Drive revenue through effective upselling, promotions, and cross-selling to achieve financial targets.
  • Implement marketing strategies to boost attendance and customer engagement.
