Salary £28,000 - £35,000 per annum dependant on experience
Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week


My client is a well-established, growing charity retailer. They currently have an exciting opportunity to join them in the newly created position of Ecommerce Trading Manager. This dynamic, forward thinking and innovative charity currently operate shops in London selling donated goods, including an online eBay shop and Depop.

As the eCommerce Trading Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Retail Partnerships & eCommerce Manager to develop and implement e-commerce strategies aligned with the charity's goals. You will oversee and optimise the online sales channels, including auctions and events, to maximise revenue streams.

Additionally, you will lead the recruitment and development of a team of paid staff and volunteers to support the eCommerce operations. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the digital operations effectively meet business needs by managing high-quality donations, maintaining a robust operational infrastructure, and ensuring the efficiency of stock processing, listings, customer inquiries, and purchase deliveries. The eCommerce Trading Manager will play a crucial role in the future growth of the charity and it is an exciting opportunity for an experience Ecommerce Trading Manager.


Ecommerce Trading Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an eCommerce strategy aligned with charity goals and income targets.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Partnerships & eCommerce manager and Director of Retail to set and manage annual budgets, targets, and KPIs for online sales.
  • Plan and present new strategies to boost income and align with strategic goals by exploring new sales opportunities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of online stores, focusing on efficiency and quality assurance.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team to create high-quality listings across various e-commerce channels.
  • Control pricing strategies to maximise sales and profitability, supported by regular sales and performance analysis.
  • Ensure a steady supply of quality donated items through effective stock level management and acquisition.
  • Meet agreed-upon financial targets for income and profit from online sales.
  • Recruit, train, and manage eCommerce assistants and volunteers.
  • Work with the team to create and implement an effective marketing strategy for online sales.
  • Ensure full compliance with financial, staff sales, and security protocols.

Ecommerce Trading Manager Experience required:

  • Proven experience in marketplaces and eCommerce platforms, specifically eBay, for listing, inventory management, and sales analysis.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and metrics to inform decision-making and optimise performance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail operations, problem-solving, processes, and systems.
  • Competence in managing stock donations, including sorting, pricing, and fulfilment processes.
  • Experience in developing and implementing online sales strategies to drive growth and profitability.
  • Proven experience in leading teams within an outcomes-focused organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience in recruiting, developing, mentoring, and managing staff and volunteers.
  • Strong motivator, capable of building personal credibility and successful relationships at all levels.
  • Results-driven with the ability to measure and quantify their own outcomes.
  • Charity retail experience and knowledge of gift aid implementation would be advantageous.
