Assistant Accountant

Salary £39,000- £42,000 per annum dependant on experience

North West London

Head Office Based 4 days per week/1 WFH day - Full Time

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

On an exclusive consultancy basis, C2 Recruitment are hiring for an Assistant Accountant for a Luxury homewares/furniture brand who manufacturers and retails at the very top end of the market. With an international brand presence this is an amazing opportunity to join a company who really cares about their teams.

We are looking for a bright and motivated Assistant Accountant to work as part of a small, but very busy Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all areas of accounts for the company and international subsidiaries and some general administrative duties within the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase and sales ledger
  • Processing of expenses and credit cards.
  • Posting and allocating payments from the bank statements (USD & EUR accounts)
  • Stock reconciliations
  • Monthly journals
  • Preparation of accounts for trial balance
  • Completion of monthly & quarterly sales tax (US)
  • Completion of monthly postings for France to send information to accountant for monthly VAT return
  • Preparation of payroll for both US & France (twice a month for US)
  • Gross profit accounting
  • Calculation of sales commissions.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Intercompany reconciliations.
  • Raising customer invoices and ensuring correct revenue recognition.
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register.
  • Ensure that the annual audit information is completed and provided to our external Accountants.

Key Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in an accounting role
  • Experience with multi-currency and payroll
  • AAT Qualification or similar
  • Strong experience in basic accounting, preparing journals and reconciliations (preferably working with subsidiaries)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Highly numerate with good attention to detail
  • Competent in the use of Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines.
