Retail Area Manager - London Based Charity
Salary £35,000- £45,000 per annum dependant on experience+ Annual Travel Card

A fantastic opportunity to join a much-loved London based charity retailer as an Area Manager has arisen. We are looking for a commercially minded Area Manager that is passionate about maximising area sales and profits across their Charity Shops.

This is a newly created role due to expansion, you will be responsible for 6 shops rising to a maximum of 15 shops due to new shop openings.

Reporting into the Director of Retail you will be responsible for maximising area sales and profits through the effective management of people, resource and budgets. This role is instrumental in making the shops the hub of the local community, acting as the face of the charity raising public awareness of the great work this charity does with residents and young people.

Area Manager Responsibilities:

  • To Deliver shop income and profit plan.
  • Track progress against plans and budgets, and support shop teams to adapt, phase and prioritise work where appropriate.
  • Take direct management of shops, covering holiday and sickness
  • Deputise for the Director of Retail in their absence
  • Support the shop management teams to recruit, induct, and retain an inclusive and diverse volunteer team, which is large enough in numbers and capable to maximise income and profitability and guarantee the smooth running of the area.

Experience required:

  • Previous Area Manager/Multi-site experience within charity retailing.
  • Experience of EPOS systems and Gift Aid.
  • Experience recruiting, retaining, and developing volunteers.
  • Experience of leading and line managing others to develop and grow, building and maintaining a high performing team culture.
  • Energy, drive and a positive can-do attitude.
