Group Maintenance Operative
£25,000 per annum (Van and tools included)
Midlands
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Midlands for an experienced Maintenance person to provide comprehensive planned and reactive maintenance support on mechanical, control, plumbing, drainage, electrical and building fabric systems.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To undertake minor installation works such as plumbing, heating, small water distribution, lighting and small power installations.
  • To carryout fault finding on boilers and plumbing installations.
  • To carryout boiler maintenance within the buildings.
  • To carryout fixed electrical testing within the buildings.
  • To carryout portable appliance testing as required throughout head office and the stores and to keep a log detailing times completed and due for renewal.
  • To carry out all minor repairs, which may include; carpentry, tiling, plastering, painting and general cosmetic work.
  • To respond to head office and store requests, providing a professional and timely service responding to call outs as required.
  • To keep a log of work undertaken and produce a monthly summary of work undertaken with associated costs.
  • To maintain all building work, including but not limited to blockages, gutters, flooring, carpet laying, carpentry, welding, plumbing.
  • To ensure that equipment installed and used meets H&S criteria and is within the budgetary constraints.
  • To ensure that individual technical training, knowledge and skills are kept up to date.
  • Able to undertake stock control and the ordering of goods and equipment



Key Requirements Include:

  • Experience of general maintenance work including one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Relevant Trade Apprenticeship or recognised Trade Qualification.
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety issues in particular C.O.S.H.H. and other statutory regulations
  • General work to also include plastering and painting.
  • Able to undertake stock control and the ordering of goods and equipment
  • Available for call out
  • Driving license
  • First Aid Certificate
