General Manager
Location: Perth
Salary: up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time (5 days per week including Saturday & Sunday)

Our client is a national business with our HQ in Perth, Scotland. They are looking to recruit a full time General Manager to oversee the operation of their Sunday market and events spaces.

About you:

• Are you passionate about delivering a positive customer experience?
• Have both an imagination and an appreciation of running a busy and vibrant market or filling an entertainment space
• Experience in a leading a large-scale trading event involving craft, antiques, clothing or food.
• People Management skills
• Imagination, vision and a creative mindset along with a strong understanding of Health and Safety practices are all a must in this role.
• A strong background in customer service ideally gained within the food and hospitality sector
• A natural leader with strategic capabilities
• Ability to prepare reports for board meetings and present insights where required
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• A natural at building and maintaining strong customer relations
• IT skills including Microsoft - word and outlook
• To be able to work as part of a team as well as independently
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated
• Ability to prioritize a busy workload
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Target Driven with the ability to establish and meet deadlines
• Efficient time management
• A flexible approach to work
• A business or industry related qualification would be advantageous

About the role:
The General Manager will work alongside the Market Manager and oversee both Events and Market operations whilst developing an innovative growth strategy that will expand our existing operations to offer diverse and locally sourced quality food provisions, as well as generating interest in the entertainment space that's capable of hosting a variety of big events. The clients aim is to build a reputable and thriving Events Centre and to future proof the Market's existence by exceeding the expectations of a new generation of market goers.
You will direct your team to deliver against your imaginative vision and to ensure the efficiency of the operation whilst achieving customer satisfaction for visitors, traders and event planners. From brand promotion and social media insights alongside the Marketing team to budgeting and reconciling takings with Finance, and compliance with Health and Safety, the role will work alongside key stakeholders both in and outside of the business.
