General Manager - Ecommerce DIY Retailer

Maidenhead, Berkshire

Salary 40,000 to £55,000 per annum dependant on experience plus great benefits

We are currently recruiting for a leading internet based DIY and Trade business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager who is looking to join a growing business. This is a newly created role so is an excellent opportunity for a really driven and dynamic individual to make their mark.

Reporting to the Managing Director you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the efficient operation of the day to day operation including the Ecommerce and Customer Service departments, you will have excellent team management skills to manage a team of c15

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment
  • Oversee day to day operations within the business
  • Customer and project management
  • Team management - leadership, performance management
  • Supporting business growth by proposing new ideas
  • Growing the online business through creating opportunities and identifying areas for growth
  • Customer and operational service overview - arranging and attending performance meetings
  • Inventory management oversight
  • Reviewing processes and procedures and implementing new ideas
  • Supporting the Customer Service Manager & E-Commerce Manager
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when required
  • Covering leaves of absence for other members of the team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a General Management role
  • Relationship management experience
  • Understanding of eCommerce platforms and how to grow this area of a retail business
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Pro-active and forward thinking
  • Extremely organised ensuring all projects delivered on time and within budget
  • Confident Communicator
  • Adaptable hands-on approach to every area of the business
  • Business acumen and a strategic thinker
  • Ideally experience gained within a similar online retailer would be of an advantage
