Assistant Manager - Retail / Sales

£22,000 - £23,000 + bonuses
Full time - 40 hours per week

Our client is a leading self-storage provider with over 35 stores across the UK and plans to expand further over the next few years. They offer short and long term storage solutions to customers and business clients, in addition to other services and retail items. We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager to join the team.

The Assistant Manager will support the Store Manager in the day to day running of the store, taking accountability for the operations in their absence. Working in a small team or occasionally alone, you will be the first point of contact for existing customers and new enquiries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a sales focused retail environment, a passion for providing excellent customer service and a proven record of achieving KPI's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the conversion of enquiries into storage customers.
  • Actively promote the sale of add on products, merchandise, insurance, shredding and be accountable for the presentation of packaging materials etc. to generate increased sales.
  • To ensure that all customers' requests are handled professionally and with customer service in mind.
  • To maintain the highest possible level of cleanliness and presentation of the store.
  • Open and close the store in line with company policies and procedures.
  • To attend Company meetings and actively participate in the development of Company policies and procedures
  • To ensure all Health and Safety standards are fully implemented within the store
  • To respond to all reasonable administration and business requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Cover other stores in the area as required


This is a full time Monday to Friday role, with the requirement to work every other Saturday and take a day off in the week. A full UK driving licence and own transport would be preferred, due to occasional travel being required to meetings or other stores.
