Area Manager (Entertainment)
Location: South
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Car + Benefits


The Role:


Responsible for managing business performance of multiple entertainment sites in the South of England through control of staff and equipment, ensuring budgeted targets are achieved and operating standards are adhered to. To engage with the park management to maximise business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the arcade management teams in your area and ensure sites are run efficiently, delivering maximum profitability.
  • Engage with park management, in consultation with the UK Operations Manager, to ensure any potential areas for business development are actively pursued.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and reporting on budgets and expenditure on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis.
  • Health & Safety/ Employment law/ Operating compliance
  • Monitor and review all revenue streams, cost of sale, stock levels and staff numbers ensuring budgets and targets are adhered to (where applicable).
  • Maintain a close liaison with your management team communicating company information/changes in procedure as and when required.
  • Supporting the identification and selection of staff for the Trainee Manager programme.
  • Support and guide the management teams' development by means of annual appraisals and targeted progression plans.
  • Undertake audits of your sites
  • Assist with disciplinary investigations/hearings as needed.
  • To attend regular meetings with the UK Operations Manager to discuss and review park performance.
  • Host your own area meetings with management teams to ensure continuity of business strategy throughout the arcade business.
  • To ensure that cash collections are carried out accurately and securely; and in line with agreed procedure with Park, whilst adhering to Company procedures.
  • To liaise with the technical management and technicians to assist and prioritise workload to help minimise any machine downtime.
  • Ensure that staffing ratios are observed and improved, whilst maintaining operational objectives.
  • To ensure that all machines provided for play are operated in line with current legislation and that customers only have access to areas which the law allows.
  • To protect and keep confidential the Company's business interests, except as authorised or required by your duties.


About you:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self directed with a high degree of self motivation
  • High attention to detail


Essential:

  • Educated at a minimum to GCSE level
  • Significant experience of managing a tourist attraction
  • Experience of working in a multi-site environment
  • Solid people management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Business acumen
  • Knowledge of financial reporting


Desirable:

  • HNC/HND in business related subject
  • Experience of working at a leisure and entertainment venue, amusement park or arcade/ Gaming operation.
  • Experience of preparing, reviewing and reporting on budgets and expenditure
